Area-by-area starting prices for every procedure we perform. Prices for surgery include the surgery, theatre, anaesthetic, and follow-up appointments at 1, 4 and 6 weeks (follow-up photos are taken at 6 weeks).

Renuvion uses helium plasma and radiofrequency energy to tighten the connective tissue under your skin, performed in the same session through the same incisions as the liposuction. Tightening continues for up to six months.
RENUVION SKIN TIGHTENING (ADD-ON)

Renuvion is added to your liposuction procedure. It isn’t a standalone treatment at this clinic.
Lipoedema is priced per session because treatment is staged. Most Patients need multiple sessions over months.
Per-session cost: $9,000 to $15,000 depending on body area and fat volume. Arm involvement adds approximately $4,000 to a session.
Stage 1 sometimes resolves in one or two sessions. Stage 3 usually requires three to five. We provide a specific quote at consultation.
We can provide a medical necessity letter for your insurer if requested. Most NZ patients self-fund most or all of their Lipoedema treatment.

Liposuction costs vary widely between providers in New Zealand, between $4,000 and $25,000+ for the same body area. Some of the variation is legitimate. Some isn’t.

Public Health System
The NZ public system doesn’t fund cosmetic liposuction. It doesn’t currently fund Lipoedema liposuction either, though this is changing slowly internationally.
ACC
ACC doesn’t typically cover liposuction because it’s not classified as an injury treatment.
Private Health Insurance
Coverage varies between insurers and individual policies. For Lipoedema specifically, some policies will contribute toward the surgical component when medical necessity is documented. We can provide a medical necessity letter if requested. Cosmetic liposuction is rarely covered by private insurance.
If you have private health insurance and you’re considering Lipoedema treatment, contact your insurer in writing before booking surgery. Get the coverage decision in writing.

Every patient sees Dr Ron at consultation before booking surgery. The consultation runs about 30 minutes, in person at our Albany clinic or via video call.
